2026 Mayfest Art Show Call for Submissions

Mayfest Art Show will be held on May 8th and 9th, at the Senior Center, located at 4 North Spring Street.

JUROR: To be determined

ARTIST DROP OFF TIME: Friday, May 8th 3 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

PUBLIC VIEWING OF SHOW: May 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Jurors are to have selections made by noon.

  • All artists cannot pick up artwork early. Show takedown will not start until AFTER the award ceremony. We will NOT be taking down the show before the award ceremony

AWARD CEREMONY: Saturday, May 9th at 4:15 p.m. Winners will be contacted via phone if not present for ceremony.

ARTIST PICK UP ART TIME: Saturday, May 9th after ceremony til 6:30

CATEGORIES: The show will have the following categories, and each category will have a kid (up to 10), youth (11 – 17), and adult (18+) groups:

Category 1- 2D Art (Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, and illustration)
Category 2- 3D Art (fiber, ceramics metals, glass, wood, basketry, quilting, jewelry)

Category 3- Graphic Design (Branding, packaging, publication, typography, UX/UI, Posters, Advertising)

Category 4- Photography (Raw, Unedited with the exception of saturation, brightness, and color adjustment)

Category 5- Photography Edited (Highly Edited, Merged Pictures, Digital Additions, ect.)

·      We will be accepting 1 (one) art submission for anyone in 8th grade and younger. They can submit as many pieces as they wish but all others will cost $5 for annual supporters and $10 for all others.

INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Entry fee: $ 5 for supporters and $10 for non-supporters, for each item entered. Fees are due at time of application and are not refundable. An artist can submit as many pieces of art as they would like. Save $5 by becoming an annual supporter at www.perrycountycreativearts.org/become-a-supporter.

  2. All accepted entries must be exhibit-ready and equipped for exhibiting and handling. No frames with exposed glass edges will be accepted.

    1. ** IMPORTANT: All Category 1 and category 3 art must be ready to be hung for display with picture wire if framed or heavy. If artwork is not submitted this way, it will not be included in the show. We prefer you not have sawtooth picture hanger on back. PLEASE use wire. Ask if you have any questions. **

  3. Size requirements must be observed. **IMPORTANT** Maximum size (category 1 and 3) including frame not to exceed 40" horizontally and or vertically. Maximum size (category 2) not to exceed 5 feet in height. Maximum weight (categories 1 & 2) not to exceed 45 lbs.**

  4. All work must be original, designed and executed by one's own self. “Original” means that the work must be from the hand of a single artist who submits the work for entry. No copies or work done from commercially prepared kits or molds are eligible.

  5. No entry of a fragile nature shall be accepted, such as unfired ceramic or plaster. All entries will be moved by volunteers from the judging area to the exhibit space and/or to a designated pickup area.

 

LIABILITY

Although every precaution will be taken to protect all art on display, Perry County Creative Arts will assume no responsibility for loss due to fire, weather, theft, or damage which might be sustained. Perry County Creative Arts disclaims responsibility for any entry not claimed after the awards ceremony Saturday, May 9th at 6:30 P.M. Any artwork will then belong to Perry County Creative Arts.

 

ENTRY GUIDELINES

Entry payment can be done by cash, check, or online through Zeffy. If a check is written, please write it out to Perry County Creative Arts.
